Home Visits

Home visits are a very special time for us. We are able to visit some of the Honduran families in their homes. Some of the homes are made from small trees that make up the frames and covered in cardboard. Some of the houses we visited were no larger then 8' x 8' square, and the whole family lives in it. Each of us had the privilege of asking them questions about their family, husbands and if they attend a church. We passed out the baby layettes to all the homes we visited and ask them for their prayer request. Most of them ask for prayer for their baby's health and many wanted us to pray for other people, family and friends not living there.

. . .`I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Matthew 25:40

Colony Ocotillo

Most of the houses we visited, were people that had recently located here, they are (squatters) and may be told they have to leave.

Looking out over Colony Ocotillo, now home to several thousand people.

The house on the left is made of pallets, the one on the right, cardboard and a tarp, both have corrugated metal roofs.

Another view of Colony Ocotillo from the side of the mountain.

Some of these houses have do have electricity.

Several of the houses have cardboard walls.

Many Hondurans, invited us into their homes.

Mother and son

Several of the small children do not have clothes to wear.

Most of the babies sleep in hammocks.
